It would be good if you added a filter by correllation id, the text filter only seems to filter the message.

Rated 5 Stars (out of 5) - This is an excellent tools for SharePoint releated work. Created a custom logger, and then using UlsViewer both in development and test environment to filter custom logging events + those cirtical and unexecpted. Stable and roboust!

Created Issue: Text filter doesnt search in correlation id [9091]

9 out of 10 times in need to look in the log files, it is because i want to find a relevant correlation id.

But when i search for the correlation id, even though i know it is there.

Clearly if would make a ton of sense to do a lookup in the correlation id column when using this excellent tool in SharePoint 2010 ?

One more request for Open Log File: The ability to open a directory and display the list of logs in a left-side navigation panel.

Hi Keir, great tool.

Makes my life so much easier.

I have two little feature requests that would make it that much more useful. Hope you can see your way to adding them in the future.

Open Log File: Having to continually browse from the default log path to our custom one is a little tedious. It would be great if the application could either:
- Remember last used location;
- allow user to specify a location via an application setting;
- or, better still, show a list of last used locations.
Text Filter: I love this. The live filtering is brilliant - and so quick. Any possibility of being able to 'exclude' as well?
- Perhaps a drop-down an option Include/Exclude on the current filter box, or an additional box to allow both at the same time?

Please keep up the great work. This is a terrifically useful tool. Dare I say indispensible? :D

Hi, great tool. Use it all the time for reading the logs :)

If SharePoint has been configured to save the logfiles on another drive then ULSViewer still opens the 12Hive location. Do you think you can read the path from the admin object model?

Bad: UI could be more responsive; needs indicator of making progress: after d-click on the exe, nothing happened; checked TaskMan to see if it was running. No indicator while loading log file (goes blank.) Good: footprint is tiny; UI clean; needs no install; loads multiple logs at once (awesome). Recommended

Hi,

Nice tool! I want to be able to filter by 'Area'. Is that possible now?

I also miss the ability to sort my multiple columns. For example, I want to be able to sort by 'Area' and then by 'Time'.
